Irish Calisthenics Institution will be running an Introduction to Freestyle Calisthenics Seminar!

Date: Sunday June 2nd 12:00 - 4:00pm

Location: Crossfit Waterford

We are delighted to announce our workshop with Crossfit Waterford!

This is our first time running a seminar in Waterford and we are delighted to be able to come down, big thanks to Liam Walsh for organising this and making it happen! Liam is the founder of Bar Brothers Waterford, and has done a huge amount in the area to get more people involved in Calisthenics, and we are delighted to finally get the chance to head down and work with Liam!

This workshop will be co-ordinated by Jamie Geraghty, with the aim being to teach dynamic, static and transitional movements for freestyle routines. This will give participants the ideas on how they can encorporate these movements into their current training and give them the tools required to continue learning after the workshop.

All participants on the workshop will also receive free entry into our online membership, which contains tutorial videos for all movements they will work on within the workshop, plus a lot more.

We can’t wait for this workshop and to get to meet everyone, we hope to see you there!

Coaching FUNdamentals Programme

DSC_0188.jpg

Our next coaching FUNdamentals Programme takes place Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th May.

Location: Bar Monkey - Scoil Cholmcille Ballybrack.

Saturday 11th 2:00 - 6:00pm

Sunday 12th 10:00 - 2:00pm

The course will cover all aspects of our FUNdamentals Programme. This is designed for coaches and we work on developing Athletes from all aspects: Physical, Educational and Emotional.

We work on the skills required to develop positive relationships with athletes and how to create a positive environment in your class setting.

This is the initial stage of an Athlete’s journey on our Athlete Development Pathway and the most important aspect of that is the environment you create in the class. On this course we delve into this and the importance of understanding your Athlete’s Physical, Educational and Emotional Needs.

We also look at FUNdamental Movement Skills and teach participants how to use our Assessment Chart that has been designed to look at each individual Athlete’s FUNdamental Movement skills. These are the building blocks upon which we build our Athletes. Before we build Sport Specific Skills we need to look at FUNdamental Movements and on this course we give you the tools to be able to do that.

On the second day we will have participants working with a group and they will be assessed on their interaction with the group and their understanding of the Fundamental Movements worked on during the course.

Tutor on the course will be Jamie Geraghty, an International Calisthenics Champion and founder of Bar Monkey. Jamie has over ten years experience as a P.E Teacher and is the person behind our coaching courses and Athlete Development Pathway.

All successful participants on the course will receive:

  • FUNdamentals Certificate Accrediting them under Irish Calisthenics Institution

  • Access to our Online Membership and Tutorials

  • All Learning Material in PDF Format

This course has minimum places. For more information please email info@irishcalisthenics.com or fill out the registration form below. If you are looking for any other courses or other dates please check our calendar below.
